Powerscourt N.S. is an ‘Active School’
In P.N.S. we strive to achieve a physically educated and physically active school community. We have spent 2 years working towards the Active Flag and we were awarded it this year in March.
In order to achieve the Active Flag we must begin by self-evaluating and reflecting on our current provision across
PE, Physical Activity both during class time and in playground and
- Partnerships which we could have with sporting organisations or people within the community.
We then plan and implement improvements across all three areas that will have a real and tangible impact within our school community.
We were very excited about our first ever Active Week, which was held from 23rd May to 27th May, 2016 and then we had an even better Active Week this year from 24th – 28th April, 2017.
If you have any expertise or ideas which you could bring, please feel free to contact Caroline Watchorn, who is the active flag co-ordinator. She is aided on the committee by representatives, one from each of the classes from Junior Infants to Sixth.
